I work with my sister and my two best friends in the kitchen. My sister is also best friends with best friend #1, and they both in turn can't stand best friend #2. (Ranking in best friends does not mean which one I like more.....) Not a whole lot of people like best friend #2. I've known her for 13 years, so I understand her, where other people don't. Sometimes, she doesn't think before she speaks and what she says can be hurtful, but she doesn't mean it like that. She also does her differently from others, and everyone else finds that annoying.
This whole ordeal has been going on for two months now. I get to work at 12:30, my sister and best friend #2 have been working since 7 am. They're usually bickering over something, then best friend #1 shows up at 1:00. Bickering continues, best friend #2 leaves and my sister and best friend #1 stand around basically talking behind best friend #2's back.
On Tuesday, my sister and best friend #2 were fighting over something, and I told them, "I'm not going to get involved." The next day, best friend #2 had the day off. So, best friend #1 and my sister talked about best friend #2 and how she's annoying and a bad worker. I left the kitchen because I didn't want to hear it. It was about work, so I'm not going to get involved. I'm standing out in one of the dining rooms, my sister walks out. She goes, "You hate me don't you?" I said no. She kept saying that, "You hate me." Then she said, "You like best friend #2 better than you like me." I said no. I explained to her why I left the kitchen, it was about work, I'm not going to get involved. They're coworkers, they need to work through that by themselves, I don't want to be involved.
So, then she tells me that best friend #2 always makes snide comments about her. I explained to her that she doesn't always think before she speaks, and she's not trying to be hurtful. But she (my sister) needs to explain to bestfriend #2 that it's hurtful. My sister said she wants me to take her side a little more. I said if I had heard that comment about your face, I would have said something. But if those two are fighting about work. I'm not going to get involved. It's really hard to keep work and my personal life seperate, when I work and play with all of them! I realize this is super long, but I do feel better having it off my chest.
